Christmas Wreath Cookies

These are the best cookies ever! They are a hit at every holiday event....

6 cups of corn flakes
1 bag of large marshmallows
1 stick of butter
Green food coloring
1 teaspoon of Vanilla
Red candies (sprinkles or hearts)
Waxed paper

Melt the butter in a large pot. Stir in the vanilla. Once the vanilla is mixed in, add a bit of the green food coloring (add as much as you want depending on how green you want them.) I would start with a small amount and add more as needed. Then add the bag of marshmallows to the pot and turn the heat off. Stir the marshmallows until the are mixed in with the butter mixture and completely melted.

In the mean time, you need to prepare a pan of warm water that will fit underneath the pot to keep the marshmallows from getting too cold which will cause them to stick to the pot. Remove the pot from the stove (should already be off) and add the corn flakes to the melted marshmallows. Stir gently. Once everything is combined, place the pot in the pan of hot water (bottom of pot will stay warm with the pan and make the marshmallows easy to work with).

Spead out on your counter long sheets of waxed paper and prepare to get messy! With a spoon, place spoonfuls full of the mixture on the waxed paper in a round shape. Do a few of these and then add the red candies so that they are still warm and will stick to the wreath cookies. Keep going until the pot is empty! Let cool and place on a decorative holiday plate!
