Hey there Thriving Ladies!

The lovely Karolyn, got me hooked to this website and I must say, I enjoy reading all the posts and stories added by such incredible women.

I'm looking for some help and who better to seek out advice and support, than your fellow gal pal?

I'm hoping to host an amazing 2 day event on Boblo Island in Amherstburg - it's going to be a dynamic experience for women of all ages to come together in a beautiful setting to mix, mingle, shop, sample, learn and explore the island itself.

I'm looking for Corporate Sponsorships, vendors/exhibitors and the like to help aid my dream, my vision of making Chic Fest, not only an annual event - but a successful, meaningful one as well.

With the sponsorships, you'll have great exposure through much of our marketing campaigns through media outlets (print, radio, website etc). With becoming a vendor/exhibitor - not only would you be able to advertise, promote and market to really the biggest consumer of products, goods and services (women) but as well - with Chic Fest, you have the opportunity to sample out your goodies and sell right then and there - ensuring that you gain profits right back inyour hot little hands/pockets! It's really a win win for the business and the ladies coming to buy! Fun, fun, fun!

I got the great opportunity years ago to have dinner with Karolyn and really learn about what she's all about and she asked a really good question right smack in the middle of dinner - she asked me what my dream was, what would I really love to do in my heart of hearts...ladies - I can honestly tell you - that Chic Fest has been in my head for more than 2 or 3 years now and I get excited and motivated and pumped up just thinking of all the opportunities it will bring to not only our community of fabulous women, but as well - to fulfilling my answer to Karolyn's question. This is my dream event.

I hope you can help me, support me and provide any feedback - I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey Gena, this is a great idea! I love it! I'm in Kitchener but would love the excuse to drive down and attend so I could see Karolyn too!

I wish you all the support and luck to make this happen. If I can help with marketing materials, let me know. I'm a writer in communications and marketing and I could give some time to you.

I have also forwarded your note to a friend of mine who owns a home interiors store up here - Inspiring Accents. Gorgeous stuff and it was HER dream to open that store, which she and her husband, my manager, made come true this past Fall. She may want to be a vendor.

Thank you so much for your kind words of support. Honestly - I have been dreaming this up for what feels like forever and it's so me so excited and inspired to see it somewhat happening. Like I mentioned - I'm slowly putting things together with everything that needs to happen, while ensuring I do it right the first time and make it a success straight out of the gate!

I would love for your support and help and it would be great to mee a fellow Thriver if you came to the event - how lovely! With regards to marketing materials, what were you thinking? I have a website guy ready at the go to begin development for my "chic fest" website and I have someone else for tickets, flyers etc etc - what were you thinking? I would love to see how you can be "chic supporter too"!

Hi Gena,
This sounds great. There are many women out there that need that connecting time to themselves and to friends.
Many of us ladies are so busy in keeping up with families, relationships with our spouses and work. That we don't have time at the end of a 30 hour day( in our dreams) to think of ourselves and sometimes friendships. I think that this is great! Oh and your thought of having Karolyn as a speaker is excellant. There would be no one better to encourage and show other women appretiation and motivation then her. Keep us posted on your progress and don't forget to let us know if you need help with anything. You never know who is out there that can help.

I am so impressed at this - Thrive - women helping and support strangers, women...sisters. Again, I applaud you Karolyn! And Helen, I thank you for your kind words as well - this is such a good feeling you ladies have brought me, thank you.

And yes!! Helen, Margaret, Karolyn - any one out there wishing to help, aid, support in any capacity is nothing short of GREATLY appreciated!!! As I mentioned before, it's a dream that I'm slowly but surely hoping to realize. You know - just have to get the old hubby on board - LOL! He's just about there though!

Sorry for my ignorance but where is Boblo Island in Amherstburg? This sounds like a great event and would love to be a part of it but not sure how far it is for me (I'm in Waterloo). LOL) - and Amherstburg is about 15 minutes outside of Windsor - so from Waterloo - I'd gather about 3 hours give or take the speed of driving! I would love to attend a Chic Fest. When would you have this festival? Would we stay in a hotel? I would need to share a room. I need to book my calendar asap, as we get so busy. 2 weddings and various other important events happening to go along with those events.
Since I decorate cakes (Facebook cake photo album =Denise Adair-Turocy) what about a fun cake show or contest to go with it?

All right sisters. I am just getting to this string now. For everyone who comes down to Chic Fest you can stay at my place. Water skiis will be ready as will be the hot tub and sauna!

Be warned - you will relax in the evening but we're going to make Gena THRIVE so I expect a whole lot of GIDDYUP! Especially if I am speaking (thanks for signing me up Helen LOL).

Ladies - thank you so much for support - so greatly appreciated! i'm nailing down more specifics this week with the island - so exciting!

Karolyn, I would love for you to do a "Chic Experience Session" - I'm hoping to have a tented area with chairs set up - lecture style, so we can have speakers there. I thought you could do a talk on your Thrive website and the connections, relationships and support system it helps to build for women...I think it would be a great platform! Let me know what you think.
